Billy bought a trail camera which has proved to be quite fun! We drove then hiked to a place across the river from our home, found an intersection of several game trails and placed the camera on a tree. We returned several days later and this was one of the pictures we captured.

Since then, we have captured several pictures of deer, some bucks with antlers and a few yearlings. No bears though!

This week we placed the camera close to the river bank where we are hoping to capture some images of the beavers that live nearby or perhaps we'll get luck and get the river otters that visit occasionally!

Bald Eagle

There is a nesting pair of Bald Eagles living near us. There are two eaglets in their nest this spring. This is one of the parents with a newly caught fish. Quite often we watch them fishing in the Clark Fork River which runs through our back yard. If the fish is too to heavy to carry, the eagle will eat some of the fish and try again. Eating just enough so that he can carry the fish to the nest. It is very entertaining watching them spar with Osprey and other birds of prey. They are truly amazing to watch.

Owl Babies

After hearing the parents hoot back and forth for several weeks, we discovered two owlets in this Ponderosa Pine, right in our back yard. This image shows only one.
